University of North Alabama - College of Nursing

The University of North Alabama (abbreviated UNA) is a coeducational university located in Florence, Alabama, and the state's oldest public university four years. Boasting a 130-acre (0.5 km) from campus in a residential area of Florence, UNA is located in an area of four city which also includes Tuscumbia, Sheffield and Muscle Shoals. The four cities comprise a metropolitan area with a population of 140,000 people. The University of North Alabama, which celebrated its 175th anniversary in 2005, has undergone many radical changes during its long history. Originally founded as LaGrange College, in 1830, he was reinstated in 1872 the first school teachers supported by the state south of the Ohio River.A year later he became a country first mixed colleges. In the last half-century, the University of North Alabama has developed into a comprehensive university region by exerting a major influence on the cultural, economic and social life of Northwest Alabama and providing educational opportunities for undergraduate pursuing undergraduate and graduate majors offered by colleges of arts and sciences, business, education and nursing

For Registered Nurses who wish to attain the BSN degree, UNA offers "Flex-Track RN to BSN Online Program" allows RNs to attain their BSN degree entirely online. For BSN prepared nurses, the College of Nursing also offers an MSN degree program completely online.
